Internet Play Roulette Online. The European wheel - also known as the Single Zero roulette or sometimes French Roulette is very similar to the American wheel.
The European wheel has only a single zero while the American one has a single zero and a double zero, and that is main difference between them.
The European table is more beautiful in symmetry while the American table is more practical during play because the red/black and odd/even are placed right next to each other, and the first18/last18 betting spots are placed right next to the single numbers.
The European single zero offers the player better odds than the American wheel with it’s single and double zero.
American roulette wheel is divided into 38 numbered slots:numbers 0 to 36 and 00. The betting layout contains every individual number and a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots.

The American roulette wheel has 38 numbers, including the numbers 1 to 36, a 0 ('zero') and a 00 ('double zero'). The European roulette wheel has 37 numbers, including the numbers 1 to 36 and a 0 ('zero'). In both games the house still pays 35 to 1 on a straight (one number) bet. This means European roulette offers better odds than American roulette. read more

Placing the Bets in Roulette!
There are many different bets that can be placed on a roulette table. At the first look the layout might seem a bit confusing but it is not very hard to understand how the betting works. Below is an image of the roulette table layout for easier understanding how and where to place your bets. The white chips demonstrate the bets that can be made.
1.) Straight Bet / The chip can be put anywhere on the layout on one of the 38 numbers. It has to be completely in the square surrounding the number you choose because if it is not the dealer could mistake it for a different bet. This bet offers the highest odds in this casino game. You get paid a 35:1 odd if the ball lands on your number.
2.) Split or Two number Bet / In a split bet you place your chip on the line between two neighboring numbers. In this case the numbers are 12 and 15. You win if the ball lands on either of those numbers. The odds on this bet are 17:1.
3.) Street or Three number Bet / This bet allows you to cover an entire row of the table. You make this bet by placing your chip on the outside line of the row you want to bet on. You win if one of those three numbers comes up. The odds here are 11:1. read more

European Roulette Wheel: The European Roulette Wheel contains 37 numbers including 0 and 1 to 36. Having one zero (0) gives the house a 2.70% advantage. In other words, for every $100 a gambler bets, the house will make $2.70 in profit. Other differences between the two Roulette Games: One major difference pertains to the color of the gambling chips. While American casinos will give the players different colored chips which will allow the players to differentiate their chips/bets from other players, the European casinos will give the players the same coloured chips. Thus unlike the players at American casinos, gamblers at European casinos need to rely on memory to distinguish their chips/bets from those of other players. Another difference between the two games includes the fact that in European casinos, croupiers use a long stick known as the Rake to sweep in all chips, while the American casino dealers will use their hands and arms to sweep the chips off the table. The last major difference between the two types of Roulette games is that if the ball lands on the zero (0) in a European casino, then the gambler is offered the option of utilising the en prison rule, whereby he may choose to either surrender one half of his/her outside wagers or to leave them for the next game. After purchasing the chips from the dealer, the player places them on the desired positions on the table in an attempt to predict where the ball will land after the wheel is spun and the ball comes to a stop. Once the chips are placed on the table and the bets are made, the dealer spins the Roulette wheel while spinning the ball in the opposite direction inside the Roulette wheel. Players are allowed to continue placng their bets during the spin until the dealer says "No more bets". When the wheel slows down and the ball drops into one of the numbered slots, the dealer places a marker on the winning number on the Roulette table. The players who bet on the winning number or color are rewarded while the players who bet on the losing number(s) lose their chips to the casino. Today, Roulette continues to be one of the most popular classic casino games, especially in Europe. This is due to the fact that European Roulette has only one zero and as a result offers a more appealing house edge. read more
